White Hart Lydgate Wedding
Childhood Sweethearts Harry and Laura married at their local church and then celebrated their marriage with friends and family over the road at The White Hart at Lydgate. After a hectic bridal morning, complete with 8 bridesmaids, mum, dad, granny getting ready at the couples lovely home nearby, we headed to the ceremony! We have worked at the church on a few times now, and it was nice to be on good terms with the ceremony official – the rule is as long as I wasn’t disruptive to the ceremony, we were able to capture everything for the couple to help them remember this amazing day. String Infusion played the bride and her dad down the aisle, which was lovely to watch, and they also played during the couple’s walk back up the aisle – they really set a good mood for the celebrations and we always highly recommend them to our couples.
The couple were showered with confetti outside the church, you can tell by the pictures that they loved it! We then lined everyone up for the all important group photos, not all couples opt for these, but we usually send you a guideline of around 10 shots for you to have on the day – keeping it to 10 or less means you and your guests wont get bored, and you can spend more time enjoying the day (whilst also keeping parents/grandparents happy as they have a photo for the mantelpiece).
While all the guests made their way over the road to the venue, Harry and Laura took off in their car for some time alone to let it all sink in, they were MARRIED!
The guests were entertained by Britain’s Got Talent’s Luca Valentino (amazing magician) while we took some portraits of the newlyweds. It was nice to get them on their own for 10 minutes to take in the day and slow things down – the day can go so fast! Luca then did couple of tricks for Laura and Harry so they got to see some of the action, I love Laura’s face in these pictures, she’s so expressive and you can tell she’s having a great time.
The White Hart itself is such a stunning wedding venue, it has that rustic barn feel being stone built with exposed beams, but has a modern touch to it with the stunning skylight in the middle, flooding the room with light. The couple (*cough* Laura) really enhanced this vibe with their decor – it was the perfect balance of modern and rustic and gave the venue a really “homely” feel.
The speeches were amazing, I loved capturing the faces of everyone on the top table as well as the reactions of the guests. One of my favourite images from the set is the grooms reaction during the best man (his brother’s) speech, he’s thinking “I cant believe he’s just said those words on my wedding day” haha!
The mighty ‘Under The Covers’ brought some amazing vocals (and plenty of fog machine dramatics!) in the evening for Mr & Mrs Bunn’s first dance and then into the night as their family and friends joined them on the dance floor! It looked amazing!!
As we were due to leave we (us, the videographers and the couple) saw the opportunity for some gorgeous sunset portraits, so while the guests were entertained we took the chance to nip outside and capture it. As much as the view provides such a lovely backdrop for the couple, I also think it was nice for them to be able to take that time out together again – to have a moment to themselves as the sun was setting. Something they’ll remember for years to come!
On the day we had our industry friends Sky Weddings along capturing the day on film. I always highly recommend videography alongside photography, and these guys are one of the only 4 videographers we recommend. If you’d like to see the day on film, check it out here!
Thank you to Laura and Harry for choosing us to capture your day, we had an amazing time!
