Peckforton Castle Wedding Photography // Dan + Rosie

Peckforton Castle Wedding Photography

I love a wedding at Peckforton Castle! Set in the heart of Cheshire, it really is an impressive wedding venue, with stunning grounds! We’d been looking forward to Dan and Rosie’s wedding, and the promise of a great crowd!

The bridesmaids were a crazy bunch and up for a giggle, and I’m not sure it could even be blamed on the wine! The morning with them was really fun and you can see what a close group of girls they are. The guys were a little calmer and collected ahead of the ceremony in the Great Hall. The ceremony is always very special to photograph, and amongst the amazing backdrop of the castle and its statues and tapestries – wow!
Rosie and her Dad had a moment when he saw her in her dress for the first time, I always love capturing a father’s reaction to seeing his daughter ready for her wedding day.

I loved capturing the emotion between them both during the ceremony! They cried and laughed their way through, before a gorgeous first kiss as husband and wife, and a SHOWER of confetti from their guests! Following the ceremony and some group shots on the courtyard lawn, the guests headed into the chapel at the entrance to the castle for a special service headed up by Dan’s Grampy. It was very intimate and lovely, with candles lighting the cozy room. It was such a nice moment to photograph!

As Rosie and Dan’s big day was in winter, we had limited light for the portrait session, but we headed into the grounds with the couple to capture some awesome photos of them – the Bride wore an epic cape too – we had to photograph this bad boy! The couple were really close, and I think it showed in the photographs. They weren’t nervous about being in front of us with the cameras! We could only spend a short time with the couple in their portrait session, before we headed back into the warmth in time for the speeches and the wedding breakfast. The bride gave such an emotional speech too – not a dry eye in the house!

The evening reception kicked off in typical Peckforton style – a broadsword to cut the cake!
Once the dance floor opened up, the bridesmaids, groomsmen, family, and guests all joined in the dancing until the early hours.
I love the shots from the dancefloor! There may have been sore heads in the morning, but it seems that everybody had the time of their lives!

As always, it was a pleasure to work with Sky Weddings Videography on the day – you can view their wedding film here!
