Owen House Wedding Barn // Dan + Leanne

Owen House Wedding Barn

Nestled away in lovely Mobberley, Cheshire, is Owen House Wedding Barn. A family run venue, it accommodates some amazing photography opportunities whatever the weather. We didn’t need any luck at Dan and Leanne’s wedding, as the sun shone from beginning to end, minus literally 20 seconds of rain.

Dan got ready at their home, surrounded by his groomsmen, before going for a drink at a nearby pub. Leanne got ready at her parents’ house near to the family church. We don’t try to pose a lot of the day, we like to capture things as they happen – you can see from the images that Leanne’s morning was nice and relaxed and really fun for the girls.

We captured the bridesmaids arriving at the church in the VW camper van, while the bride followed with her Dad in a vintage Jaguar, whilst the groom awaited with family and friends inside. The couple had a Catholic service, including mass. The Priest was happy for us to move around during the ceremony, although we tend to try to do this without disturbing the formalities. His flexibility on rules meant the couple could have a lot of the important moments captured.

After their first kiss and signing of the marriage register the couple then made their way out of the church, and were greeted by their family and friends and showered with confetti!!

We then moved on to the stunning Owen House Wedding Barn for the wedding breakfast and reception. This is one of our favourite venues, not only is it a relaxed vibe for the bride and groom on the day, but also it has a lot of opportunities for photography whatever the weather. Its always great to have a good indoor space for your group photographs for example as you can never predict the weather in the North-West!

Leanne and Dan arrived at the venue to cheers and applause, and then settled into their cocktail hour. Casual photographs of friends and family enjoying their day often tend to be favourites afterwards, as the couple miss a lot of these moments trying to get chance to speak to everyone. We headed into the fields and grounds for 20 minutes with the newlyweds for some portraits of them on their own, and also so they could spend a little bit of time alone together before their wedding breakfast.

I love a good set of speeches, and Best Man (Dan’s brother) gave a cracker of a speech. It turns out that Dan, now a teacher, sat his brother’s exam for him at uni and it was at this moment that their parents found out about this! Hilarious!

Before the evening reception, the couple and I were given a tour of the grounds by the owner. We took the chance to take some more stylish photos of the couple, and we can’t wait to see what these look like printed in their album!

Onto the cake cutting and the first dance, the couple were full of smiles and having such an amazing time. There was a lot of energy on their dance floor, and their guests were throwing some SERIOUS shapes!

They had a ball from beginning to end! Perfect wedding!!

Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Taylor! Thanks for having me guys, I had a blast!
