Out Barn Wedding
The Out Barn at Clitheroe was a brand new venue for me! Sara and Steven picked a cracker!
The bride started the day getting ready in a gorgeous stone cottage up the road from the OutBarn. I’d definitely recommend it as a place to get ready for your day – its beautiful! Sara had some time with her sister and her dad before heading up the lane to the barn in time for the ceremony.
The ceremony was simple and beautiful and the views from those huge windows are amazing! The bride and groom smiled and laughed their way through their vows, before their first kiss in front of those rolling Lancashire hills.
After the ceremony the couple had a drink and a mingle with their guests before we got everyone out on the terrace in front of the Out Barn for a big group shot and then some smaller family pictures. After this we took the couple away for 15 minutes just to give them some time together away from their guests, and to get some gorgeous images for them to remember their day! These guys were really natural in front of the camera, with smiles and laughter leading the way while Wayne and I snapped away. The couple enjoyed themselves so much they wanted to go out again after the meal, so that we could explore a bit more of the venue grounds and surroundings!
The speeches were kicked off by bridesmaid Kirsty, with a heartwarming speech, then the brides dad and the groom gave theirs. The best man’s speech started with him downing a pint (he’d made Steven do the same at his wedding) and he ended with some hilarious anecdotes and lovely words.
After the meal, and once the light had dropped a little, we took the newlyweds out to explore the Fairy Bridge and the woodsheds a little further up the lane. As you can see we got some gorgeous and more adventurous photos of the pair.
When we got back, the floral arch that featured in the ceremony had been moved to the entrance of the room. It was a lovely backdrop for some smaller, less formal group photographs of the evening guests and the couple – always a good idea!
The first dance was great, with guests joining in to help them finish the song. As the day was still long and the sun had not yet set, some guests headed outside to enjoy a drink and catch up – and a game of Jenga! What a lovely day!
Looking forward to my next Out Barn Wedding!
