Knowsley Hall Wedding
Knowsley Hall is a stately home near Liverpool in the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley, Merseyside. Since 1953 it has been designated a Grade II listed building, and is the ancestral home of the Stanley family, the Earls of Derby.
The entire estate was exclusive to Dan and Kate for the day, and boy what a venue! If you’re going to book a stately home for your wedding, this one should be on your list.
The Stucco Ballroom was beautifully decorated for the ceremony by Joseph Massie, with amazing florals on clear pedestals, which was both a contrast and compliment to the opulent surroundings of the building. The bride looked stunning as she made her way down the Grand Staircase, amongst the superb artwork that adorned the walls.
Following the beautiful vows, the guests congregated on the steps at the front of the venue for the group shot, and once each photograph was completed and each group was shot, slowly made their way for drinks and canapés in the courtyard at the back of the building. Once we had given the couple time to mingle, we disappeared for 15 minutes to explore the grounds with them, and take some beautifully intimate photographs.
As the weather had been so sunny for the afternoon, the guests mostly gathered on the outdoor terrace until it was time to go in for the meal. The State Dining room was once again such a stunning place to host the wedding breakfast, the walls filled with amazing paintings of various Earls and people of importance – almost like they were joining you for dinner!
Taking advantage of the warm summer evening, we took the newlyweds for another little wander, to capture those amazing ‘golden hour’ colours – and they did not disappoint! Once the sun was setting, the evening celebrations were due to start, and the Daddy O’s kicked off the first dance while the family and friends watched from the sidelines, before joining in and busting their own moves on the dance floor!
Amazing wedding! Thanks for having me guys! Congratulations!
