Bashall Barn Wedding // Chris + Claire

Bashall Barn Wedding

Bashall Barn is an amazing venue that caters for all seasons. The views from the balcony and terrace are amazing whatever the weather – and the sunset views are even more stunning!

We met Chris and Claire at a wedding fair and we clicked straight away. We talked about what they were looking for from their wedding photography, and how we love to capture natural moments. What really came across is how important their family and friends were to them, so we were really excited for their wedding day to come around!

Both mornings started at the Ribble Valley Cottages, where the bridesmaids, family and some friends got ready for the day. I love the Bride’s dad reaction to seeing his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time. What a beautiful moment!
The groom and his buddies quickly disappeared for a pint in a cosy Lancashire pub before heading over to the Barn. During the morning we don’t usually pose or stop things from happening, which allows for a bit more of a relaxed atmosphere. This also allows for some lovely photos, but more importantly the couple can remember the day as it actually happened.

The ceremony at Bashall took place out on the terrace, featuring that amazing Ribble Valley landscape. I loved the smiles in this portion of the day, as bride Claire was full of grins, and Chris most of the time looked like he couldn’t believe his luck!

After the nuptials, those Lancashire hills provided the perfect backdrop for their group pictures. We then went for a stroll around the Barn with the couple while they took in that “just married” feeling. I enjoy capturing these moments because you can really see them taking it all in. Of course no trip around the grounds would be complete without a visit to the infamous cow shed, where the cows were also keen to get a look at the newlyweds!

The couple are keen travellers, and love a good holiday, hence the travel theme to their decor.  The paper planes were the perfect (environmentally friendly) alternative to confetti for them!

Often we find the October light is really good to us, and on this day we were treated with some lovely ‘golden hour’ light before sunset. This meant we could nip outside again with the couple, while guests were seated for the meal, for a short portrait session between courses. What I love most about their images is that a lot of the photos show them laughing and having an amazing time together. I feel like we really captured the REAL Claire and Chris, and the whole essence of their relationship. They’re just so fun together!

We closed the night with an amazing little choreographed first dance from the couple, before their wedding guests joined them on the dance floor showing off their awesome moves!

Give me these weddings every day please!

Congrats Chris and Claire, Mr & Mrs Wilding – You were epic!!
