Ashfield House Wedding Photographer
Ashfield House Weddings are always a favourite of ours and Ashleigh and Phil’s was definitely no exception! Both had very relaxed mornings, choosing to get ready at home rather than a hotel (the groom at the couples home, and the bride at her parents house a couple of doors down). Ash and the girls were smiling and laughing through their morning together, and the boys were very organised in getting themselves looking smart for the day ahead.
They chose to get married in their family church in Oswaldtwistle, in a beautiful and simple ceremony. I loved capturing Ash’s reactions throughout, you could see it all over her face that she was so excited to be marrying Phil.
The newlyweds were showered with confetti outside the church before heading over to the beautiful Ashfield House in Standish, which had been beautifully decorated with floral arrangements by the amazing Sarah at The Rose Boutique in Wigan.
Ashfield House has a habit of making everybody feel like they’re at home – I love this! Its an award-winning wedding venue, that still keeps that relaxed atmosphere. (Perfect for when your feet are killing and you just want to kick your shoes off and chill on one of their many comfy armchairs)
With the house and grounds being so well maintained (especially the new terrace area at the front) – it makes the perfect location for your ‘family formal’ photographs. We managed to get everybody together for a group shot before taking the couple off into the grounds for some time for just them, and some gorgeous photographs of the two of them.
The wedding breakfast had the guests in stitches, with brilliant performances from dad and his ‘project manager’ spreadsheet, and the best man’s singalong. I love seeing a good speeches section to the day, the people closest to the bride and groom giving an insight into each of them before and after they met.
The evening kicked off with an immense first dance and another confetti shower for the bride and groom, before their guests joined them on the dance floor and partied the night away with the help of DFC Lancashire.
Thank you to Mr & Mrs Howard for choosing us, we had an amazing time capturing your big day!
