Yorkshire Pre-wedding Photoshoot
North Yorkshire seemed like such a random place for a pre-wedding shoot, but Brimham Rocks is somewhere that Laura used to go as a child. She mentioned the rock structures and the moors, and how it would be a cool place to shoot. As I had never been before, I saw this as an amazing opportunity to explore creativity in a new environment.
We arrived to a dreary grey sky, but with all the shades of autumn. This place is a photographer’s dream. Colours, shapes and awesome little passageways carved our journey through the terrain. Once we had a bit of a wander, we started to take some portraits. It was lovely to talk to Laura and Adam throughout taking the pictures, finding out things they love about each other, their music and movie tastes, and what makes them who they are!
We did get caught in the rain, but we were 10 minutes away from the car, and already a little wet, so they decided to roll with it! For me, this captured the emotion between the pair, the smiles, their eyes, and the way they like to hold each other. I don’t like to force intimacy on a couple, rather view the evolution of the shoot and record who they both are when distractions are stripped back and we cut ourselves off from the outside world a little bit.
It was awesome to see the connection in front of the camera between the couple, and the love they share. This duo was so much fun to capture, and a pleasure to spend the day with.
