Mitton Hall Wedding
Mitton Hall in Clitheroe is a stunning country house hotel in the heart of the Ribble Valley, and a beautiful setting for the wedding of Ashley and Cecily.
The bridal suite is stunning, and such a gorgeous room to photograph the girls getting ready in the morning. The natural light that pours in through the window is perfect for getting the bridal make-up right too! We photographed the details that had gone into the day – the flowers, shoes and accessories – while the bridesmaids prepared for the day.
With having 2 photographers – the groom had Darren with him in the morning photographing him with his groomsmen and greeting the guests. When our couples get the images back they comment on how nice it was to see what the other party were doing in the morning.
The couple chose to have a ‘first look’ before the ceremony; a chance to see each other prior to that walk down the aisle. Its growing in popularity here in the UK, and such a beautiful way to share that moment of the first time you see each other on your wedding day.
The ceremony room again was beautiful, with the windows next to and above the couple as they were saying their vows we got some lovely shots of the couple as they tied the knot with their friends and family looking on. This room was then turned around to host the wedding breakfast – along with some hilarious speeches – and a speech from the bride – another thing this couple did to break tradition!
After the formalities were done, everyone made their way outside for group pictures and some chill out time with drinks. Its great to capture natural moments in this part of the day as guests are starting to relax and settle into the day, while being excited for the happy couple. The grounds of Mitton Hall provided the perfect backdrop for the couple to sneak away for some time away from the madness of the day, and to soak in that newlywed feeling. We try to only take a couple away from their guests for maybe 20 minutes – that way they’re not missing their own party!
One of my favourite parts of a wedding is the dancefloor, after the couples first dance I love catching the guests off-guard having an amazing time at the party – and this wedding definitely brought a good party (Shout out to DFC Lancashire for keeping the dance floor full!)
Loved shooting this wedding, the couple and their guests were so welcoming. They had an amazing day, and it was a pleasure to capture for them!
