Kilhey Court Wedding
This gorgeous couple have one of my favourite love stories. Barbara and Brian met in their golden years at U3A (ask your nan!). Brian fancied Barbara as soon as he saw her and even took one of her Women’s History classes in order to get to know her better! What a sweetheart!
We photographed daughter Claire’s wedding celebrations a couple of years ago so we were really happy to be asked back to photograph more of this family’s memories.
On the wedding day, the Groom greeted the guests in the reception area. Meanwhile, in the bridal suite, daughter Claire would be on hand to make sure Barbara had a relaxing morning. In the morning we had a quick appearance from Grandson Harry, entrusted with the rings, and son-in-law Ben, who would be walking Barbara down the aisle – it was lovely to photograph such a close family on such an important occasion.
The afternoon involved a beautiful and simple ceremony followed by group photographs of friends and family. The couple stayed outside a little longer (dodging the rain) for some time alone together and also for a few portraits and laughs.
The pre-wedding shoot we had with the couple really helped them relax in front of the camera ready for the big day, it settled any nerves about being in front of the camera, and also helped us get to know each other in a more casual setting- we’ll post a link to their pre-wedding images soon!
Brian and Barbara had their first dance to “Just The Way You Are” (Billy Joel not Bruno Mars) before family and friends joined them on the dance floor to dance the night away.
Thank you to Mr & Mrs Joyce for hosting such a beautiful day, it was a pleasure to capture more of your family memories.
