Colshaw Hall Wedding
Colshaw Hall is amongst Cheshire’s most beautiful and luxurious wedding venues. I’ve been fortunate to photograph here several times, in all seasons. An exclusive use wedding venue, Colshaw Hall is a spectacular place for a wedding celebration.
Claire got ready at home with her bridesmaids and parents before travelling to the nearby family church in a vintage Rolls Royce, where groom Michael was waiting patiently. You may recognise the church from a previous blog – Owen House Wedding Barn. I love the services here, they’re so relaxed, and my couples seem to be laughing through their ceremonies, which is always great to watch, and capture. Its always worth checking before your ceremony what guidelines your priest/vicar/registrar/celebrant have in place for your photography – luckily, this Priest was very accommodating!
As you can imagine with a December wedding, the weather wasn’t ideal for spending a lot of time outside. However, with Colshaw Hall being decorated beautifully for the Christmas period, there were a lot of lovely places that made the perfect backdrop for photos. With family portraits and more casual guest photos captured, the couple and I then moved around the venue for them to have some portraits of just them, and more importantly to spend a little time together to soak in the feel of the day.
Once the light had dropped, the fairy lights illuminated the room for the wedding breakfast and gave some amazing warm tones, perfectly complimenting the mood of the day. The speeches were equal parts heartfelt and hilarious, and I loved capturing the reactions!
The evening celebrations started with the newlyweds cutting their cakes (Mr and Mrs Caterpillar cakes!) before taking to the dance floor with awesome band Green Hot Clover and then partied the night away with superstar DJ Adam Carr!
A gorgeous December wedding that we were so glad to capture! Congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Whitehair – thank you for having us share your day!
