Bridgewater Hall Wedding Manchester
City centre weddings are always fun, but when its a brand new venue that have never hosted a wedding before – that really gets our creative juices flowing! The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester had welcomed the Halle orchestra before, but in August it was to play host to the marriage of Tina and Stuart. We had done a tour of the venue beforehand to spot out cool and interesting locations, and (along with the wedding planners at the venue) figure out the plans, locations and timeline for the day.
When you have this beautiful city as a backdrop to the wedding, its so important to utilise it and make it part of the wedding, equally as impressive and interesting are the quirks that the Bridgewater has to offer. Hanging the dress from the stalls that overlook the stage was a shot that I had in my mind from our pre-wedding walk around, and having the guests sit in the stalls for the big group shot was amazing. We managed to get outside for a couples session. We like to use that time not just for wedding pictures that the couple can hang in their living room, but also as a time out for the newlyweds. A wedding is such a busy day with so many people to catch up with that you can sometimes forget to spend time with your new spouse. Taking even 15 minutes, a couple of times a day, can help slow down the day for you, as well as giving you time to reflect on the day together. We used the cool urban surroundings, having Manchester straight across from your wedding of course provides stunning views. Surrounding The Bridgewater Hall is The Midland Hotel, Manchester Central, the epic Beetham Tower / Hilton Hotel, and straight across the road is the Metrolink – if its good enough for Corrie its good enough for us! 😉
Entertainment is always important to a good wedding – make sure you research your bands/DJ’s beforehand, and get recommendations from other wedding suppliers. Tina and Stuart chose a live band and a DJ for their wedding reception – with Coldplays “Sky full of stars” as their first dance before friends and family took to the dance floor to celebrate.
Thanks to Tina and Stuart , Mr & Mrs Webster, for trusting us to capture your wedding! It was a pleasure to be a part of it.
