Ashfield House Wedding
Ashfield House in Standish is a venue that I love to shoot no matter what the season. Nestled away in Wigan, on a rainy September day, Daniel and Caroline’s big day had arrived. Caroline got ready in Ashfield’s famous Sitting Room with her two sisters and their mum, while Daniel greeted the guests downstairs.
Following a beautiful ceremony, we spotted our chance to get some group pictures without getting soaked! Smaller groups could then be photographed indoors, on the beautiful staircase near reception.
Caroline and Daniel were brave enough to head back out with us for a portrait session, one of my favourite moments in the day. It gave the couple a chance to relax away from the guests for 10 minutes, and take everything in!
We headed back in avoiding the rainclouds back into the warmth of the venue. The speeches were hilarious, on account of the best man not having a verbal filter, a whip and some very choice words for the groom – the reactions were brilliant.
The bride then broke out her ukulele and joined her local band Ukes At The Wharf for a set including some Beatles tracks (personal favourite band!) right before DFC’s Mike got them up and dancing.
Congrats Mr and Mrs Kenny for an amazing day!
Cheers to Big Bear for the video skills, DFC for the dancing, Skelmersdale Flower Centre for the beautiful rose bouquets, and Ashfield House for their hospitality.
